About artist

Haghtanak Shahumyan was born in Yerevan in 1944.
In 1961-1963 studied in Ara Sargsyan’s studio.
In 1967 he graduated from the Painting Department of the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts and Theater.
In 1967 became a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia.
In 1977-1989 – Chief Painter of Yerevan.
2010 Haghto was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Armenia
2013 Haghto was awarded golden medal from the Ministry of Culture of RA

His works are kept in the National Gallery of Armenia, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Warsaw, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, private galleries, personal collections, etc.
About 50 Solo exhibitions: * Pyrenees (Yugoslavia, 1977), Warsaw (1985), Moscow (1991), USA (1989, 1992), Paris (1994, 1996, 1998, 1999), Yerevan (1996), Melbourne (2000), Yerevan, Artists’ Union of Armenia 2010, Yerevan, Artists’ Union of Armenia 2014, Lebanon, Hamazkayin “Lucy Tutunjyan” Gallery 2018.
